Police Department

Coronavirus / COVID-19

The Nunda Police Department along with other law enforcement agencies in the Livingston County area are implementing protective measures for police services within our community. These measures will protect the community and officers while on duty to perform and maintain public safety. To ensure that our agency can continue to maintain the same level of safety and protection we have implemented the following items.

  • The Nunda Police Department will be responding to emergency 911 calls, in progress calls for service, and calls for service with an active emergency.
  • For any non-emergency calls for service please call the Nunda Police Department at 585-468-2515 and a Nunda Police Officer will evaluate the need to meet the caller face to face. The officer will take the information needed by phone and will follow up with the caller if additional information is needed.
  • Nunda Police Officers responding to calls for service that require face to face interviews will remain an appropriate distance away from the subject interviewed. This is for the safety of the officer and person interviewed. Providing this distance between the public and first responders will be in the best interest of safety for all.
  • The Nunda Police Department lobby and office will be closed until further notice. There will be a sign posted on the door with contact information for the Nunda Police Department. Any person requesting a copy of a police report please call the office number provided and an officer will prepare one for you.
  • Officers may wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and may ask people to step outside when they arrive on scene at the location of the call for service. This is for the safety of everyone.
  • All car seat installations and inspections will be temporarily suspended.
  • The Nunda Police Department will continue to work with our partners in law enforcement and EMS to navigate through these difficult times. Please use CDC guidelines to protect yourself and others during this time.

The Nunda Police Department and its members will continue to patrol the streets in our community during and throughout these times. As the Nunda Police Department and its partners receive more information and instruction from the appropriate authority’s, information will be made available to the public. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We will all get through this difficult time together.

Thank you,

Ryan J. Dale
Chief of Police
