Town & County Taxes - due in January
The Town of Nunda sends out Town and County tax bills at the end of December or early January. Taxes are due by January 31 without penalty and must be paid to the Town Tax Collector. If the 31st falls on a Saturday or Sunday, then the penalty free period is extended to the following Monday. US Postal Service postmarks will be accepted.
There are two ways to pay:
In person – Payments are accepted by Cash, Check or Credit/Debit card at the Government Center, 4 Massachusetts Street, Nunda. Office hours are Monday and Tuesday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
By mail - Checks payable to Tamara McCallum, Tax Collector, and mailed to Tamara's attention at PO Box 699, Nunda, NY 14517.
Tax Collection within the Town Clerk’s office is limited to the beginning of January to the end of March.
- January payments include paying only the base amount without penalties.
- February payments include a 1% penalty to the January amount.
- March Payments includes January payment plus 2% penalty and $2.00 mailing fee.
As of April 1st, taxes will not be accepted by the Tax Collector.
On April 1st taxes are turned over to the Livingston County Treasurer with any unpaid amount due plus 5% penalty and 1% interest is added per month until payment is made. The Livingston County Treasurer can be reached at 585-243-7050.
